The clubhouse is closed for its annual clean and maintenance work Jan 4-18th
Thu 4th Jan 2018 to Thu 18th Jan 2018
Our volunteer maintenance team has been hard at work for the last few days, cleaning, painting, checking and general sprucing up of our club for the 2018 season. Particular thanks to a big group of our friends from the FoCCRC who came along on the first day, and made short work of removing all the Christmas decorations!
Saturday's crew of Mike Johnston (plus dog Kirsty!), Hugh Maclean, George Mathers, John Ridley, Neil Stuart and Ken McClelland are pictured, having a well deserved lunch break.
Work continues through until mid January, so if you can spare any time to help, please come along from 10am on a day or two during this process.
The club will reopen for the quiz night on Friday 19th January.
A chance to work off the hangovers and mince pies with the first races of 2018, two races on 2nd January at Largs.
In addition to Alan Henderson's action photographs (see the LSC Racing Facebook page), there is some great drone video from Hugh Macgregor here. Many thanks to everyone afloat and ashore who made the racing possible!
Ashore, Avril had the clubhouse open from 10 o'clock for coffee etc, then food available lunchtime.
After Monday and Tuesday's weather kyboshed all racing, and a dodgy Wednesday morning, it was great to get two races in on Wednesday afternoon in challenging conditions, then five races on Thursday, in bright sunshine! Snow covered Arran looked spectacular early this morning also!
The best FoCCR’s Christmas party ever was on Saturday 9th December at Largs Sailing Club. There was an evening of dance sounds provided by DJ John McFarlane, plus games, food and a Santa visit. Everyone enjoyed to late into the evening.
Notice is given of the AGM of Largs Sailing Club Ltd, which will take place in the Lookout Lounge at 1500 on 26th November 2017. The agenda, notes, accounts and members proposals will be sent to members via WebCollect
Strictly for Beginners, a fun introduction to some moves on the dance floor
Sat 4th Nov 2017
Members Cynthia and Tony Crewe (Aliandy) will guide us through some basic dances steps guaranteed to be fun for all ages. Afternoon tea will be available as we foxtrot, waltz and jive the afternoon away to a surprising array of music. Wear comfy clothes and shoes that don't grip the floor (so no trainers!)
