Great send-off for Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust Round Britain relay!

Some pictures from today's great LSC send-off (look at the crowd on our balcony) for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust Round Britain relay, starting with Ellen doing some boatbuilding with our cadets!!

The five-month voyage will see over 100 young people in recovery from cancer take part in the extraordinary challenge - sailing around Britain in a national relay, celebrating achievement and realising potential. The crews will visit over 60 towns and ports with activities planned in each port. First stop is Glasgow, then Oban, and up the Caledonian Canal, and onwards. More information on the EMCT web site here.

Fair winds and good passages, and we look forward to welcoming the boat back in Largs in September.

Largs Regatta Week

Largs Regatta Week, our major event, was blessed with the best sailing conditions for many years - and some of the best in this rather mixed "summer"! Cumbraes Weekend had round the cans racing for dinghies, cats and keelboats on Saturday, followed by Sunday's Round Cumbraes, both in sunshine, and relatively steady wind conditions. The week continued with the Midweek Series, and the Two Handed races around Arran, or Holy Isle. See for full results.
