Scottish Night - 7.00 pm for the piping in of the haggis at 7.30
Sat 25th Feb 2017
A relaxed evening with Scottish-themed food and inhouse entertainment provided by club stalwarts. Starting with a nod to Burns, the haggis will be piped in by Mr Bob Randall and addressed by Mr George Hutchinson. Our MC Bob Byers will then introduce a surprising array of talent from your own club membership, with music, singing, and recital already promised during an excellent meal. Booking essential for this popular event.
The entertainers list is now pretty full, but if anyone has a burning desire to do a turn, especially younger members - contact Marilyn Lord, email@example.com, 01294 829286.
Clubhouse reopens on Friday, 13th January, for quiz night - all clean and freshly painted - many thanks to the maintenance team! All members are invited to an open forum to discuss the future development of the club on Saturday 21st January; reports on the New Year Races; winter talk on Scottish Canals, Sunday 5th February.
Huge thanks to the 61 club members of all ages who took part in our very energetic workshop day. Lots of ideas and many suggestions were made (see the documents section of the club website – http://www.largssc.co.uk/club/publications), and some actions are now complete - cruising group Facebook page, all club day cruise 11th June, ropes on slipway to help singlehanders, "social sailing" on a Friday evening for those who don't want to race etc.
Donna Mallan, Customer Service & Business Support Manager with Scottish Canals, and a colleague will come a speak to us about getting to and from Scotland’s Canals and what to do when in them. Additionally, they will have some news about discounts for club musters and are happy to answer specific question or speak about other canal related topics of interest to our members.
