The clubhouse was busy at the LSTA's information evening, with returning cadets, new cadets, and parents hearing of the season's plans from Johnathan Briggs, then Bill Forsyth about clothing and other practicalities. Courses start on Monday 23rd April. For more information, and to book junior and adult courses, see here.
New for 2018 is a new race group called the “Largs Development Squad”. This will be for dedicated race training with the goal of making the kids more competitive in races. We only have 12 places for this squad and to get it you must own your own Topper, Oppie or Laser.
Knowledge of first aid is a great thing to have, but is essential for any of us who cruise in more remote locations. There are a number of places left - £80 for members (non-members £100), including manual and lunch. Book on line at https://webcollect.org.uk/lsta/category/shorebased-courses.

The Ellen MacArthur fundraiser at Largs SC raised £1200 for this great charity, which helps young people in recovery from cancer. This message from the Ellen MacArthur team:
A special thanks to the Largs Sailing Club, Largs Marina, and The Fencebay Band we'd also like to thank all of the local businesses and people who donated raffle prizes. We couldn't have done it with out you!
The money raised will enable more young people to live, dream, achieve and embrace life again after the devastation of illness!
