SCOTTISH NIGHT UPDATE
The Scottish Evening unearthed a wealth of talent from members who performed between courses of a very good meal. The pipes played by Matt Mochar set the tone of the evening, followed by haunting Scottish songs from cadet Paul Gillespie and later his aunt Myra King, a comic song and monologue from Alex West, amusing story ( Yorkshire!) from Bob Rutherford, amazing performance poetry from Margaret McAuslan, and rousing songs from Chris Nichol. Two of the many excellent acts from the members were the address to the haggis, written and given by Jim McAuslan (download here),and 'The Quarterdeckers' barbershop quartet (above).

ROTHESAY CRUISE UPDATE
This event turned out to be the best cruising event of the season to date.
Winds were fresh throughout which made for first class sailing and the Jazz festival turned out to be well worth a visit.
Five boats left Largs at 1030 on Saturday morning Nimbus being the lead boat followed by Corshyecan, Carpe Diem, Claymore, and Mallie.
Initial reports from Summer Wine (alongside Rothesay the previous day) indicated that space was tight for berthing.
On arrival at Rothesay we were lucky all boats managed to find a berth.
On Saturday afternoon we all made our way to a local pub at Port Banatyne where we enjoyed a light refreshment in the
Beer Garden.
On the Saturday night all attended various Jazz events in the town some which proved to be excellent.
On Sunday we departed in various directions as some members took the benefit of an extra days cruising.
The new harbour proved to be an excellent place to park. Space within the harbour is tight and can test seamanship skills
manoeuvring in and out. The cost of an overnight stay for a 30 boat is £15.50 which includes electrical hook up.
