Largs Sailing Club continues to be one of the major Championship Venues in the UK, hosting National and World Championships for a range of different classes.
During the 2023 season we enjoyed hosting some great events, starting in May with the One Design Weekend – a lighter wind event than in previous years with some good racing across all the fleets - Musto Skiffs, RS 400/200, D Zero, and “Lasers” (ILCA 6/7). See results and report here.
The Largs Regatta Festival Weekend on the 26/27 August had a fantastic entry, with three races on the Saturday, and the legendary Round The Island (Cumbrae) race on Sunday. We also saw the return of our midweek 100 Guineas Series, an always popular series with cash prizes as well as glory to reward the fastest. See results and report here.
In early October the Hunter 707 Scottish Championships were scheduled but someone forgot to book the wind and across the weekend the race officers were unable to get in any racing. Competitors seemed to find solace in the bar and maybe 2024 will be the year to set things right…
Now 2024 is here with our HARKEN One Design Regatta in the diary for 18/19 May with the with a slight change in classes – ILCA, D-Zero, Aero, RS200 & RS400. This is followed once again by the ever successful Largs Regatta Festival Weekend on 24/25 August followed by the midweek 100 Guineas Series. And a new event for 2024, our Fast Regatta 28/29 September for all skiffs and cats with a PY or equivalent of 935 or less. This will also include the Scottish Catamaran Championships.
Come and enjoy our fantastic sailing waters and facilities.
