Cruising Calendar
The cruising group organises events throughout the year, with a series of talks through the winter months leading into weekend cruises, and an extended west coast cruise in the summer.
The events from the 2012 calendar are listed below.
The Cruising Section winter talks start at 14:00 and to finish by 16:00
Guest Speakers are:
- General Yacht Care and Maintenance by Nicolas Clanche of équipage marine
- Brokerage: Buying Selling and Survey of Leisure Craft
The Second of the Cruising Section winter talks starting at 14:00 and to finish by 16:00 Guest Speakers are:
- Diesel Engines and Auxiliaries - Joe O'Malley a Clydeport Engineer
- History of the River Clyde - John Riddell
The Cruising Section winter talks start at 14:00 and to finish by 16:00
Guest Speakers will be from the coastguard, and may involve a visit to the Navy buildings in Greenock (To Be Confirmed)

Proposed Itinerary : Cruise to Otter Ferry/Tarbet/Portavadie.
Meet at Clubhouse at 0930 sharp on Friday 6th April.
Proposed Itinery: Rothesay or Port Banatyne.
The Rothesay Jazz Festival weekend. Kyles of bute cruise for those not wishing to attend the Jazz Festival.
Report to Clubhouse for 0930 sharp on 5th May to Join Cruise
Proposed Itinerary: West Coast of Scotland Cruise via Nothern Island and Islay then on to various destinations on the West Coast of Scotland depending on prevaling weather.
There will be an option to attend the Arran Folk Festival 9th to 10th June.
A meeting will be arranged at a later date for the Skippers of all boats wishing to join the cruise..
Proposed Itinerary : Weekend Cruise to Troon Marina ( Night out at Scotts with possible sharing with Troon Cruising Club)
Please be advised berthage is free provided you collect berthing certificate at Largs Marina Office.
To participate please report to LSC no later than 0930 on Saturday 23rd June.
Proposed Itinery : Weekend round trip to Holy Loch Marina ( Evening ashore at local pub )
To participate please report to LSC no later than 0930 on Saturday 7th July.
Proposed Itinerary: Cruise Round the Kyles of Bute ( Clockwise or anticlockwise depending on prevaling weather)
To participate report to LSC no later than 0930 on Saturday 21st July.
Proposed Itinerary: Weekend Cruise to Tarbet. ( Weather permitting Barbie ashore on the Saturday Night )
To participate report to LSC no later than 0930 on Saturday 11th August.
Proposed Itinerary : Holiday Week Cruise to Loch Fyne and round Arran alternatively a Round Kintyre Cruise ( all depending on weather forecast.)
To participate report to LSC no later than 0930 on 25th August.
Weekend Cruise to Millport with Barbie ashore.
As an alternative if Weather not suitable we will return to LSC and have our barbie there.
Overnight Cruise to Port Banatyne.
Rothesay night out on the town followed by joining jam session at local pub.
To join Cruise report to LSC no later than 0930 0n 30th September.
