RACING PROGRAMME 2009

LARGS REGATTA WEEK is a series of races which

include the prestigious Round Cumbraes Race

and Scottish Two Handed Race.

All events are open to entrants of any RYA affiliated club.

Racing is scheduled for Keelboats and Dinghies with racing

in IRC, CYCA, SCHRS, One Design and Portsmouth Yardstick

fleets.The best performance in both Keelboat and Dinghy

classes are awarded Yacht/Dinghy of the Week.

SATURDAY 22nd AUGUST

Largs Regatta

Keelboats, first start 11am.

North of Cumbrae Race Areas.

Round the buoys racing with 2 course areas.

2 Races scheduled.

NEW for 2009 Restricted Sail Passage

Race Start 10.30am

Dinghies, first start 12pm

Largs Channel Area.

4 Races scheduled, results calculated using avg laps.

SUNDAY 23rd AUGUST

Round Cumbraes Regatta

9.30am, first start

All classes sail one of 4 possible courses around the

Islands of Cumbrae.

25th - 26th - 27th AUGUST

Maritime Craft Services 100 Guineas Series

Evening racing for Keelboat and Dinghy fleets

in the Largs Channel coordinated by Fairlie Yacht Club

and Largs Sailing Club. Open to visiting yachts.

Windward/Leeward courses shall be set each evening

for Keelboat classes.

Dinghies will race in accordance with Largs Sailing Club

Wednesday night courses. John Highcock of Saturn Sails will

film the action and debrief sailors.

Scottish Two Handed Race 9.40am, first start

All yachts to be sailed by only 2 people round either

Arran or the Holy Island returning to Largs.

6 classes to enter including restricted sail.

Hems Kalis Dinghy Series

12pm,first start

Racing in Largs Channel using Largs Sailing Club

courses. 3 back to back.
